LIBRARY

HEC’s real strength lies one of the richest libraries in the region. It has fully air-conditioned 15,000 sq. ft. carpet area and functionally designed building with seating capacity of 460 students. It houses a rich collection of text and reference books, journals, magazines, audio/video, CD-ROMs, online databases and data analysis software etc. To be specific, spreading over all the branches of Engineering and allied subjects as well as inspirational best sellers and other General Knowledge books, it is a home to approximate 35,000 books, 125 national/international journals 7 magazines and 4 news papers. The online access to all DELNET journals and many other technical journals is also available. However, as we all know, acquisition of books and study material is a continuous process. The library is being enriched every day.   Thousands of books are being added to the existing stock every year.

            The library has separate stacking area, periodical section, reference section, technical and maintenance sections, reading rooms and cloak room. The digital library section and research library sections have been added to make a source of research for teachers and tech-savvy students. There are two reading halls with a seating capacity of 460 students, Separate reading room is provided for teachers as well. Reading rooms facilitate quiet, self-study and preparation of notes and lessons. Besides, video-library section is available for preparing lectures and slides by teaching faculty.

            Also, the library has well monitored cloak-room for keeping the belongings of the students safe while they are within the library premises.

            The library is fully computerized for issue and return of books and other study material. It remains open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on every working day.

            The college library is indeed, Readers Paradise, a haven to explore a world of knowledge in the most conductive and congenial ambience. It acts as a learning resource-centre a true treasure trove erudition to fulfill the needs and requirements of the teaching, training and research programmes of the institute.

E-Resources
The library is member of INDEST-AICTE consortium through which our library users can access a large number of E- journals viz. DELNET, INFRA TECH-ENGINEERING, INFRA TECH-MANAGEMENT.

Library Timings

The timings of the library are 08:30 am to 9:00 pm during all working days. Circulation services are provided only during college working hours.

Video Cassettes & CD-ROM facilities

There are more than 2000 Educational DVDs & CDs available in Audio-visual section of the library, which are viewed by library users on regular basis. Library provides internet services to its users. There are 15 computers in the library, with internet connection for users.

Digital Library facility

The library has On-line journal search facility through DELNET consortium. It is equipped with multimedia computers.

Book Bank Facility

Library has Book-Bank, which caters to the needs of economically weak students or SC/ST students. Books are issued for full semester, and every year 400 students are benefilled by this.

Reprographic Facility

Documents or Xeroxed copies of articles, which are not available in the centeral library, are procured from other libraries on request of the users.
